What is Slab Structural Load Path?
Well, when we refer to the load path, we are describing how loads are transferred from one element to another and eventually to the ground. For a suspended slab, this involves transferring the load to supporting elements such as columns and walls, which then transfer the load to the ground.
The load path involves different structural behaviours, such as bending, as well as different structural directions. In this course, we will explore both of these aspects in detail.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand various structural behaviours like bending in a suspended slab
- Understand structural load paths in suspended slabs by going through actual drawings
Course Outline:
- Moment, Shear, Compression, Tension and Torsion
- One-way & Two-Way Slabs, Beams
- Bending, Strong Band & Strut-Tie
- Real Life Examples of Structural Load Path
