Course Description

Steel Structure Design – AS4100:

In Australia, we design steel structures in accordance with the AS 4100 design code. When compared to the American standard (AISC), there are several key differences in the design approach, including the use of different equations to calculate member capacities. Depending on the type of member—whether it's a truss, beam, or frame—we'll explore the specific equations used to determine the appropriate member size.
