  • Suitable for: Structural Engineers, Civil Engineering Graduates
  • Chosen by: Students from UNSW, University of Sydney, UTS, Graduates who are about to join the industry
  • Length: Total 4 hours
  • Access: 6 months access on mobile & PC

What is Truss/Beam/Frame :

Well, first step in designing a structural element is understanding how it structurally works and try to calculate the internal actions including shear and moment. Depending on structure type, I mean being a truss, beam or frame, we need to look at different ways to analysis and find the internal forces.

You Will Learn:

  • Truss Analysis:
    –    Joint Method
    –    Cut Method
  • Beam Analysis
    –   Cut Method
    –   Quick Method
    –   Moment Distribution Method
  • Frame Analysis
    –   Cut Method
    –   Moment Distribution Method

Overall a very good course

It is overall a very good course to refresh your structural engineering knowledge. Would be great if the instructor explained the moment distribution method in the last video and include SFD and BMD so I could not cross-check my answers.
